A highly sought after variety of the famed 'sting of...' family.

Like it's better known cousin, the string of pearls, the string of watermelons is a plant that sometimes confuses. Give it the best possible light you have (this may be outside) and water it very sparingly and you should have success.

Plant care

This plant needs the following:

Light

Bright to indirect bright light. 

Water

Water when soil is completely dry to the touch. Drain thoroughly.

Placement

Place this in window with sun for 6-8 hours a day (or  outside on a balcony) preferably hanging.

Slow growing

This unusual succulent isn't a fast grower but will reward you with white blooms (and of course, very cool leaves).

African origin

This plant hails from Namibia and is related to the String of Bananas.

Top tip

If you are potting direct porous pots like ceramic and terracotta are best to prevent waterlogging.
